Video Guidelines

For Riding, In Harness, or In Hand patterns:

Video should be filmed from center of the arena, with camera following the horse’s movements. If you are filming with multiple horses in an arena, be sure to focus on the horse being judged.

For all dressage tests:

Should be filmed from “C”. Markers with letters MUST be used.

For In Hand Conformation classes:

A single static photo should be submitted, of a side view of the horse standing. The horse’s head should be facing left (left side of horse’s body visible to the camera). The horse can be stood up however you think best shows off their conformation.

Video guidelines are to try and create consistency between videos, for accurate judging. If you are unable to conform to these guidelines exactly, just make your best attempt. Understand that this may affect your score if the judge feels they are unable to judge you properly.

Videos should be submitted to a media sharing site, such as YouTube, so that a url link to a video can be submitted. DO NOT SEND VIDEO FILES.

Please title your video with rider’s name, horse’s name, class video is for, and show date video is for.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact the show manager.

Show Rules & Guidelines

Formal show attire is not required. However, attire must not be distracting, or too baggy (it makes judging the rider’s form difficult).

Helmets are encouraged for riders 18 yrs and older, REQUIRED for all youth riders under 18 yrs, regardless of discipline shown in. Heeled shoes are required (no sneakers, crocs, etc).

Open only to registered, purebred Standardbreds. Horse does not need to have raced. If horse is not registered, but you are able to prove their purebred heritage (such as in the case of foals who are unregistered due to unpaid stud fees), they may participate.

Horses must be serviceably sound.

Horses are welcome to show in a hackamore or bitless bridle. They will not be penalized.

In all instances where a trot is asked for, any intermediate gait is allowed. The intermediate gait is the horse’s gait between walk and canter. This could include pacing or racking.

You will not be penalized for using an intermediate gait other than the trot, however the gait must be consistent for the duration of the class entered (i.e., horse can not trot and pace in the same video entry).

Videos must follow the given guidelines in Class Information. Videos and photos can not be reused between shows. Videos can be filmed at other events/shows, for the purpose of submitting to this show.

Videos and payment must be submitted by show’s closing date, or entries will not be accepted.

Rider may enter multiple horses in a class. Horses can be shown by multiple riders, only in equitation, dressage, or youth in hand classes.

Entrants must sign up for Membership and pay the corresponding fee, as well as participate in a minimum of 3 shows to be eligible for series high point awards.

For DRESSAGE ONLY: pre-existing videos of tests performed at a competition may be submitted if they are within the requested video guidelines, however these videos may not be reused between shows.

All judge’s decisions and placings are final. Any issues, questions, or comments can be brought up with the Show Manager, Brielle Roman.
